When You are determined to see Queens of Stone Age but Life has other plans...

Here are 3 things I learned this week from my third failed attempt to see Queens of the Stone Age live in concert in a West Coast city that starts with the letter S. (Don’t ask me why I notice these patterns; maybe it’s because I am a Human Design Projector, but more on that in a different post).

1. When the third time is not a charm. Apparently, I’m not meant to catch Queens of the Stone Age live unless they perform near me. Josh Homme, I’m in Missoula in case you are reading this 😊. I had tickets to see them in Seattle last October, after orchestrating a long flight home through London and a long layover in Seattle to catch them on the way back. The day before my over 24-hour flight to Missoula that was supposed to get me to Seattle just a couple of hours before the concert, it finally dawned on me that even if there were no delays and I made it on time, the chances of actually staying awake for the show were slim to none. So, I decided to change my flight to a direct one to Missoula, having just seen they had a show in San Diego a couple of months later. I sold my Seattle concert ticket and bought one for San Diego in December. When December arrived, with so many things happening in my life and around the world at that time, I experienced what I believe was a spontaneous Kundalini awakening with intense symptoms, making traveling out of the question. Realizing that plan wasn't going to work out either, I canceled my reservation and managed to sell that ticket as well. Not one to give up easily, months later, bummed that I couldn’t make it to my niece’s wedding abroad due to logistics (which incidentally got canceled afterwards) and feeling sorry for myself, I decided to give myself a consolation beach trip if I found a good concert nearby. And guess who’s performing in Santa Barbara tomorrow? I won’t bore you with the details, but let's just say that life (and my dog) had other plans, and for the third time, I had to cancel my trip to see Queens of the Stone Age live. The ticket is still available, by the way, if anyone is interested.
2. ​You can feel your way into your desired reality. Besides the Queens of the Stone Age concert, I was really looking forward to my solo beachcapade. Every 2-3 months, I take a 3-4 day solo trip. These trips are almost meditative experiences where I get to disconnect from everything and everyone. They nourish my soul and replenish me, and I've found that they are an essential part of my well-being. But since I ended up having to cancel, I had the genius idea (If I may say), not to give up on my 3-day meditative experience and recreate the same healing and flow atmosphere of the ocean by painting it. With the added bonus that the act of painting itself is similar (give me a break, I'm trying here, lol) to the feeling you get walking by the ocean.
3. It’s all about perspective. I have been saying for months now that I was going to get back to painting any day now, real soon, but kept putting it off till.... you know how excuses go... Since I couldn’t go on my trip and my calendar was cleared out, I decided to stop talking and start doing. It’s not perfect, it’s not finished, but yesterday I began painting again and it is most definitely a start.
4. You can create your own reality. (I know I said 3, but I seem to underestimate things as you probably have guessed by now). By setting the visual intention of being by the ocean, even if just by painting it, I may have manifested another beach trip: The hosts of my non-refundable Airbnb reservation, probably feeling bad for me, were kind enough to offer me a 3-night future credit, so I still get to go on my beach trip. No Queens of the Stone Age, unfortunately. However, I did see a Kings of Leon concert in Santa Barbara in August... hmmm...
5. Bonus Lesson No. 1 – When life gives you lemons, grab some tequila, make a margarita, and drink it by your new sea painting. Even if it is snowing in Montana at the end of May. I kid you not, it snowed here today.
6. Bonus Lesson No. 2 - I think my biggest lesson of the week is that setting visual intentions and creating visual representations of my desired reality is in fact my superpower. I kinda already knew that, maybe just not in words.
